Plagiarism Policy
Literatia Cendekia (LICE) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and upholding ethical standards in scholarly publishing. The journal considers plagiarism a serious violation of publication ethics and does not tolerate any form of unethical academic behavior.
Plagiarism is defined as the use of another individual’s ideas, data, words, or creative expressions without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes, but is not limited to, direct plagiarism, self-plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, data plagiarism, and improper paraphrasing without proper citation.
Originality Requirement
All manuscripts submitted to Literatia Cendekia must be original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to ensure that their submissions are free from plagiarism and that all sources are appropriately cited in accordance with accepted academic standards.
Plagiarism Screening
To ensure originality, all submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to the peer-review process. The journal applies similarity checks to identify overlapping text, duplicated content, and potential ethical concerns. A similarity index alone does not determine plagiarism; editorial judgment is used to assess the context and significance of detected similarities.
Acceptable Similarity Threshold
Literatia Cendekia generally considers manuscripts with an overall similarity index exceeding 20% or a single-source similarity exceeding 5% as potentially problematic. Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds may be returned to authors for revision or rejected, depending on the severity and nature of the overlap.
Self-Plagiarism and Redundant Publication
Self-plagiarism, including the reuse of substantial portions of an author’s previously published work without proper citation, is not permitted. Redundant or duplicate publication is considered unethical and will result in rejection or retraction if identified after publication.
Consequences of Plagiarism
In cases where plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected and the author(s) may be barred from submitting to the journal for a specified period. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article and issue a formal notice of retraction in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Author Responsibility
Authors bear full responsibility for the originality of their submitted work. By submitting a manuscript to Literatia Cendekia, authors confirm that their work complies with this plagiarism policy and adheres to ethical standards of academic publishing.
